Privacy Policy

Last updated Sep 9, 2026

Welcome to Block Seven, a digital commerce agency for South African brand owners. This Privacy Policy explains how Block Seven ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, protects and discloses your information when you visit our website, send us an enquiry, request a call back, or engage our services.

The short version: everything you share with us is treated as confidential, whatever it is. We do not sell it, we do not share it beyond what is needed to do the work you have asked for, we never use one client's information to benefit another, and we never use inside information from TSeller, our own software, to help our clients. The sections below set that out in full.

By using this website or contacting us through it, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit your details.

Scope & Applicability

  • Website: This informational website and any related subdomains
  • Enquiries: Contact form submissions, email, and "Call me" requests sent through the website
  • Services Covered: Marketplace management, e-commerce management, paid media, social media management and website development delivered under a separate service agreement
  • Client Information: Everything we see, receive or generate while managing your accounts, whether it is personal information or business information

Our Confidentiality Commitment

This section is the heart of this Policy. It applies to every client, every enquiry and every piece of information we hold, and it applies whether or not a service agreement repeats it.

Everything You Share Is Confidential

We treat all information you give us, or that we see while doing your work, as private and sensitive. It does not matter what kind of information it is. Your pricing, suppliers, costs, margins, sales figures, stock levels, product pipeline, advertising results, customer data, credentials, strategy, plans and internal conversations are all confidential, along with the personal information of the people we deal with at your business.

We do not share this information with anyone outside Block Seven except in the narrow cases set out under Disclosure of Information below, and we never sell, rent, trade or exchange it.

We Never Use One Client's Information to Benefit Another

We manage accounts for a number of brands, some of which sell in the same categories. Each client's information stays with that client. We do not use what we learn inside one client's account to advise, price, position, plan or grow another client, and we do not combine or compare clients' data to give anyone an advantage. What we bring to your channels is our own expertise, never information carried out of someone else's business.

TSeller Inside Information Is Never Used for Clients

TSeller is our own marketplace management software. Every account we manage runs on it, and it is also used by sellers who are not Block Seven clients. Information inside TSeller belongs to the seller whose account it is. We do not use inside information from TSeller, whether from other sellers' accounts, from activity across the platform or from our position as the software's operator, to help our clients or to inform the work we do for them. Each account is kept separate from every other, and our team's access to any account is limited to what that account's owner has authorised.

Nothing Is Published Without Your Approval

We publish, post or make public on your behalf only what you have authorised. That includes social media posts, listings and product content, advertising, website changes, and any mention of your brand, logo, results or name in our own marketing, case studies, client lists or reviews. If you have not approved it, it does not go out.

No Sale or Marketing Use

We do not sell personal or business information to anyone, and we do not use client information for marketing to third parties. We contact you about our own services only with your consent.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

Contact Details

  • Name and surname
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Company or brand name

Enquiry Details

  • The channels, marketplaces, and services you ask about
  • Any message you include with an enquiry or call-back request

Client Account Information

Once you engage us, we receive and generate the information needed to run your channels, including:

  • Product data, brand assets, pricing and stock information
  • Sales, order, fee and advertising performance data from your marketplace, store and advertising accounts
  • Credentials and access you grant us to those accounts
  • Customer information visible inside those accounts, which we handle only to do the work you have asked for

Automatically Collected Data

When you visit the website, our hosting provider records standard server data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the date and time of access. This data is used for security, performance, and to understand how the website is used. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this website.

How We Use Your Information

Responding to You

To answer enquiries, arrange call backs, prepare proposals, and follow up on your interest in our services.

Delivering Our Services

To onboard your brand, manage your marketplace and store accounts, run your advertising and social channels, build and maintain your website, and report back to you. We use your information for your work and for nothing else.

Communication and Support

To send service updates, account notices, and support responses. We do not send marketing email without your consent.

Improving the Website

To keep the website secure, fix problems, and improve the content we publish.

Disclosure of Information

We do not share your information, except in the limited cases below. These are the only circumstances in which information leaves Block Seven, and in each one it is shared only to the extent needed.

Service Providers

We use a small number of providers to run the business: Google Firebase hosts this website, Web3Forms delivers enquiry and call-back submissions to our inbox, and TSeller, our own software, is the platform we manage your accounts on. Providers process information only on our instructions and only for the purpose we engage them for, and we do not give them access to client account data beyond what that purpose requires.

Marketplaces and Platforms

When we manage your listings, pricing or advertising on Takealot, Amazon, Makro, Leroy Merlin, Bob Shop, Shopify, WooCommerce, Meta or Google, the information those platforms require is shared with them under their own terms. We share only what is needed for the work you have authorised on each platform.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property. Where the law allows, we will tell you before we do.

Business Transactions

If Block Seven is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any recipient will be bound by the same confidentiality obligations set out in this Policy, and we will notify you.

With Your Consent

Beyond the cases above, we share information only with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Never Between Clients

To be clear: nothing above permits us to share your information with, or use it for, another client. That never happens.

Data Usage

How We Use Your Data

We use the information you give us only for the purposes set out in this Policy. Information we see inside your accounts belongs to you. We do not share it with, or use it for the benefit of, any other business we manage, and we do not draw on TSeller inside information to inform your work or anyone else's.

Service Delivery & Operations

  • Managing your marketplace and store accounts and product catalogue
  • Running and reporting on advertising, promotions and social channels
  • Building, maintaining and supporting your website

Communication & Support

  • Responding to enquiries and call-back requests
  • Sending service and account notices
  • Providing support and resolving issues

Platform Improvement

  • Understanding how the website is used
  • Improving our content and services, without ever drawing on client-specific data to do so

Data Processing Principles

  • Lawfulness: We process data on a lawful basis under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
  • Minimisation: We collect only what we need
  • Purpose limitation: We use data only for the purposes described here
  • Confidentiality: We treat all client information as sensitive, whatever its nature
  • Accuracy: We keep data accurate and up to date where reasonably possible

Data Retention

We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and client records for the duration of our service agreement and any period required by law thereafter. When our work together ends, we hand back or remove our access to your accounts, and data we no longer need is deleted or anonymised. Our confidentiality obligations do not end when the agreement does.

Security

Our Commitment to Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.

Technical Security Measures

  • The website is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption
  • Hosting on Google Cloud infrastructure with managed security controls
  • Email and business systems protected by strong authentication

Access Controls

  • Access to client information is limited to team members who need it for that client's work
  • Each client's accounts and data are held separately, and access is granted per account rather than across all clients
  • Marketplace, store and advertising credentials are stored securely, never shared outside the team, and returned or revoked when our work ends

Organisational Security

  • Every team member is bound by confidentiality obligations covering all client information
  • Team members are trained in handling client data responsibly
  • Providers are chosen for their security practices

Your Security Responsibilities

  • Keep any credentials you share with us confidential
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised

Security Limitations

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Breach Notification

If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Cookies & Browser Storage

This website does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. It stores two small items in your browser to make it work: your light or dark theme choice, and a note of where to scroll when you follow a link between pages. Neither identifies you, and neither is sent to us or to anyone else. Standard server logs are kept by our hosting provider as described above.

Your Rights

Under POPIA and depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • Accessing and updating your information
  • Requesting deletion or correction of your data
  • Objecting to or restricting the processing of your data
  • Withdrawing consent for data processing
  • Lodging a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details provided below.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are directed at businesses and are not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately to request deletion.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When significant changes occur, we will update the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Our confidentiality commitment will not be weakened by any update.

Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, or wish to exercise your rights, please contact our Information Officer at support@blockseven.info or on +27 71 200 7133.
